Sexual health

Condoms, sample pot and C-card

In the drop-in you can get information and support on all sorts of sexual health issues. We can also support you to access other services such as the Young People’s Sexual Outreach Team.

The drop-in service is confidential and provides:

  • free condoms
  • pregnancy tests
  • chlamydia screening
  • support and information

We will try to answer any question you may have. We can’t give medical advice or diagnose symptoms, but we will help you find someone who can.

C-Card condom registration scheme

The C-Card is a small card available to anyone aged 16 to 25. Having a C-Card means that you can get a monthly supply of free condoms at Castlegate.

This is a confidential service. When you register:

  • We will explain our confidentiality policy to you.
  • We will ask your date of birth and the first 4 letters of your postcode. This is used for monitoring purposes.
  • You will be given condoms, information about the scheme and how to use condoms and information about other sexual health services in York.

Once you have your C-Card, the next time you call in all you have to do is show the card to a worker in the drop-in. They'll record your C-card number and give you your free condoms – it’s that simple!
